LightBenders ("we," "us") operates lightbenders.com and the LightBenders Tape Recovery service. This policy describes what information we collect through this website and how we use it.

What we collect

​

When you request a tape survey or contact us, we collect the information you provide: your name, company, email address, and, if you ship media to us, the contact and shipping details needed to receive and return it. That is all. We do not collect anything beyond what a client would normally provide to any post-production vendor.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Card and bank details are entered directly with Stripe on their hosted payment pages and never touch our systems. Stripe's handling of that information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.

Our website is hosted on Wix, which may set standard technical cookies required to serve the site. We do not run advertising, ad tracking, or sell data to anyone.

Your media and its contents

​

If you engage our recovery service, the data on your tapes is handled under the confidentiality terms of our service agreement, which controls over this policy for that material. In short: your content is stored exclusively on local systems at our facility, is never uploaded to any cloud or third-party service, is never transmitted over the internet, and is unrecoverably purged after verified delivery per the agreement's schedule.

How we use your information

We use your contact information to respond to your inquiry, provide the service, send you the documents the service produces (catalogs, reports, executed agreements, invoices), and keep the business records the law requires. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except service providers strictly necessary to operate (payment processing, website hosting) or where required by law.

Do Not Track

​

Our site does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because we do not track visitors across third-party websites in the first place.

Access and deletion

​

To review, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, email bru-restore@lightbenders.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. Records we are legally required to retain (such as executed agreements and tax records) are kept for their required retention periods.

Changes

​

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
